报告主题：Research Capabilities at EMSE and Missouri S&T: Opportunities for Collaboration and Exchange
报告摘要：
In this presentation, Dr. Suzanna Long will detail the research capabilities within the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering (EMSE). Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, EMSE is considered the founding department in engineering management. Research strengths include resilient critical infrastructure systems, cyber-physical systems, data analytics and decision-making, computational intelligence, and more. In addition, Dr. Long will introduce the four research signature areas at the campus level and discuss opportunities for collaboration and faculty/student exchange.
Dr. Ruwen Qin will briefly discuss the role of stochastic modeling and dynamic optimization in study of cyber-physical systems to conclude the presentation. Relevant examples from funded research will be introduced as well.
主讲人简介：
Dr. Suzanna Long is professor and interim chair of engineering management and systems engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Long was named a Fellows of the American Society of Engineering Management in 2015. In addition to being named Fellow, Long is currently the Immediate Past President of the Society of Engineering Management Systems in the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.
Dr. Ruwen Qin is an Associate Professor of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Missouri S&T. She received her B.S.E. and M.S.E. degrees in Spacecraft Design from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and her Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Pennsylvania State University. She joined Missouri S&T since 2008.
