报告人简介:

Prof. Jane Jiang holds the chair of precision metrology and is the Head of the Surface Metrology Division at the Centre for Precision Technologies, University of Huddersfield.  She has a PhD in Measurement Science, and a DSc in Precision Engineering. She has published more than 200 Papers on measurement science and surface metrology, she published three papers in the Preceding of Royal Society London A: Mathematics, Physics and Engineering Science, has written two book, co-authored three books and has been an editor for two special issues for the institute of physics UK 2006

She is a principle member of TC/213 committee “Dimensional Geometrical Products Specification and Verification” and the BSI TW/4 committee "Engineering drawing, metrology, precision measurement", and an UK National Measurement System Advisory Committee Member.

Professor Jiang had fourteen years experience in geometrical metrology in the automotive industry and has been engaged in scientific research of surface and form metrology for more than nineteen years. Her main interests include development of mathematical models and algorithms for form and surface texture analysis, filtration and parametric characterisation, and new optical interferometry techniques for on-line measurement of nano-scale surface topography.

Professor Jiang was awarded the Outstanding PhD Dissertation in China during the 1990s in China and awarded a Cheung Kong (Yangzi) Professor by the Ministry of Education China; she was also awarded the Outstanding Young Scientist by the National Natural Science Foundation Council, China 2000.

She was awarded a Royal Society Wolfson Merit Award in March 2006, The fifth most influential Chinese origin women in the world 2006 – in Woman of China Magazine and also she was awarded a UK national prize, the Outstanding Woman of Achievement Award –Asian Woman Achievement Award in May 2006, becoming the first Chinese Woman for this award.

Prof. Jiang is an elected Fellow of the Institute of Engineering Technology (FIET), and an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA). Professor Jiang was presented as one of the “People who have made a significant contribution to national life in 2006”, to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at a Buckingham Palace Reception on 19th December 2006”.  She is an elected Associate Member of International Academy of Production Research since August 2007.
