To promote high-quality and full employment for its graduates, the School of Mechanical Engineering held the 2027 Graduate Employment Mobilization and Career Readiness Training Conference on December 5.
Li Xin, alumnus and Vice President of the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, and Ying Hao, Director of the Employment Guidance Department at Zhejiang University's Career Guidance and Service Center, were invited to attend and delivered keynote speeches. Liu Zhenyu (Party Secretary of the School), Tian Hui (Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Secretary), representatives of outstanding graduates from the Class of 2026, and all students from the Class of 2027 attended the event.

Liu Zhenyu invoked the late Principal Zhu Kezhen's famous "Two Questions" to prompt graduates to reflect on their career orientation and planning. He put forward three hopes for the students, emphasizing that "Acceleration is more important than initial velocity." He encouraged the graduates to apply their talents where the motherland needs them most, striving to turn the pride of "Today I am proud of ZJU" into the reality of "Tomorrow ZJU will be proud of me."

Alumnus Li Xin (Class of 1997) delivered a keynote report, systematically introducing the cutting-edge developments and future trends in national aerospace technology. He shared an overview of the talent recruitment and development systems at the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology and offered heartfelt advice to his younger schoolmates.

On behalf of the school, Liu Zhenyu presented a commemorative album to Li Xin. This gift not only carries the school's deep affection for its alumni but also symbolizes the fine tradition of "Passing on, Helping, and Leading" among mechanical engineering alumni.

Tian Hui delivered a report on the employment landscape, offering an accessible analysis of the job market, career choices, employment services, and job-hunting advice.

Ying Hao conducted a career readiness training session, providing detailed tips and practical suggestions on enhancing job search skills, covering corporate recruitment logic, resume presentation, and key interview points.

Three outstanding graduates from the Class of 2026—Zhao Yucheng, Li Pei, and Cai Jiaru (representing bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels respectively)—shared their job-hunting experiences. They provided practical, battle-tested insights from different pathways, including applying to key organizations, career planning, and further academic studies.

This conference guided students in establishing a correct career outlook, understanding the current employment landscape, and enhancing their competitiveness. It laid a solid foundation for their future employment. The school will consistently safeguard high-quality and full employment for its graduates through an employment guidance and support system characterized by "Full Participation, Comprehensive Guidance, and All-round Support," leading mechanical engineering students to achieve excellent in serving the nation's major strategic needs.
