Academician Yang Huayong Addresses the 2025 International Symposium on Intelligent Manufacturing

On November 27, the 2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference was held in Nanjing under the theme of "Digital Intelligence Driving, New Quality Leading."


Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, Vice Minister Xin Guobin of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Yang Huayong, Chairman of the International Federation for Intelligent Manufacturing and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), attended the plenary session and delivered speeches. Liu Xiaotao, Governor of Jiangsu Province, presided over the event. Zhou Ji, Honorary Chairman of the International Federation for Intelligent Manufacturing and Academician of the CAE, delivered a keynote speech.


During the conference, the new session of the National Expert Committee on Intelligent Manufacturing was established. Key outcomes were released, including the Joint Initiative of the First Batch of Pioneering Smart Factories and the "Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances in World and Chinese Intelligent Manufacturing 2025."


In his speech, Academician Yang Huayong noted that over the past decade since its inception, the World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference has witnessed the global manufacturing industry's deep evolution from automation to digitalization and intelligence. He pointed out that the breakthroughs in General Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) have injected new momentum into intelligent manufacturing. The International Federation for Intelligent Manufacturing will actively promote in-depth cooperation among countries in technology, standards, talent, and industrial applications to share the fruits of intelligent manufacturing.


On the afternoon of November 27, the 2025 Annual Meeting of the National Expert Committee on Intelligent Manufacturing was held in Nanjing.


On November 28, the "2025 Special Event on Scientific and Technological Advances in Intelligent Manufacturing," co-organized by the International Federation for Intelligent Manufacturing (ICIM) and the China Association for Intelligent Manufacturing (CAIM), was held at the Nanjing International Expo Center.


Academician Zhou Ji, Honorary Chairman of ICIM, and Academician Yang Huayong, President of ICIM, attended the event.


In his speech, Academician Yang Huayong pointed out that intelligent manufacturing is the primary focus for innovation and development in China's manufacturing industry. He emphasized that its essence lies in the deep integration and systematic integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies. Yang noted that the global exchange platform, built upon ten years of accumulation from the World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference and nine years of releasing the "Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances," has provided crucial support for gathering innovative wisdom and deepening international cooperation in research and application. Facing the emergence of new global industries and business formats, he stressed that intelligent manufacturing must deepen open cooperation, strengthen exchanges among nations, regions, and international organizations, jointly seize the opportunities presented by the technological and industrial revolution, and work together to address challenges.


During the event, Academician Zhou Ji and Academician Yang Huayong jointly presented certificates to the projects selected for the "2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances" and the "2025 China Intelligent Manufacturing Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances."
