The Alumni "Kaiwu" Forum of the College of Mechanical Engineering was held in the Kaiwuyuan Lecture Hall at Zijingang Campus on the morning of November 9, 2025.
The forum invited the following distinguished alumni to return to their alma mater for an exchange with faculty and students:
Qian Shuguang, Chairman and General Manager of Rongqi Industrial Technology Co., Ltd.;
Lü Guihua, Co-Founder and President of Qiniu Cloud;
Wei Bin, Researcher at the Shanghai Ship Equipment Research Institute.
The event was attended by over 150 participants, including Liu Zhenyu (Party Secretary of the College), Zhao Peng (Vice Dean), Tian Hui (Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Secretary), and Han Dong (Assistant Dean). The forum was moderated by Han Dong.
During the sharing session, the three alumni sequentially reminisced about their unforgettable student days at Zhejiang University. Looking ahead to future development, they offered valuable advice to their younger peers.
Alumnus Wei Bin encouraged students to "follow your heart, and let no direction define you" (No matter East or West), and to pursue careers they are truly passionate about.
Alumnus Qian Shuguang pointed out that mastering learning methodologies is more important than knowledge itself.
Alumnus Lü Guihua emphasized the importance of avoiding addictive products, having the courage to experiment and make mistakes, and noted that taking detours is also one of the key paths to understanding the world.
During the Q&A session, students actively engaged by asking questions, creating a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere on site.
To conclude the event, Liu Zhenyu presented commemorative cups to the three alumni, Tian Hui gifted them commemorative albums, and student representatives offered bouquets of flowers. The forum concluded successfully amidst warm applause.
