From October 24th to 26th, 2025, the "4th Frontier Forum on Manufacturing Paradigm III" was successfully held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. As one of the key parallel forums of the 2025 World Young Scientists Summit (WYSS), this event was organized by the International Society for Nanomanufacturing (ISNM) and co-organized by the College of Mechanical Engineering at Zhejiang University.
The forum appointed a distinguished group of academicians—Yang Huayong, Ding Han, Jiang Lan, Zhang Xuejun, Wei Gao, and Fang Fengzhou—as Honorary Advisors. The co-convener team comprised Chen Yuanliu (Zhejiang University), Liu Xiaokang (Chongqing University of Technology), Yan Yongda (Harbin Institute of Technology), Benny C.F. Cheung (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Chen Rong (Huazhong University of Science and Technology), and Xichun Luo (University of Strathclyde, UK).
Guo Jiliang, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, and Li Ning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, attended the opening ceremony. The forum was presided over by Chen Yuanliu, Qishi Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University and Associate Dean of the College of Mechanical Engineering.
Centering on the core theme of "Atomic and Near-Atomic Scale Manufacturing (ACSM)"—the hallmark of Manufacturing Paradigm III—the forum brought together leading scholars, young scientists, and industry representatives from China, the UK, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Hungary, Singapore, Denmark, Hong Kong, and other regions. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the scientific pathways and industrial prospects for advancing manufacturing technologies from the micro-nano scale to the atomic scale.
