On the morning of September 7, 2021, the 3rd "Zhejiang University Qizhen Youth Forum - West Lake Mechanical Engineering Young Scholars Forum" was successfully held in Yuquan. More than 80 members of the party and government leadership team of the School of Mechanical Engineering, heads of departments, and representatives of teachers and students gathered on air with many young scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and other countries and regions.

The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Deqing Mei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School. Hui Ruan, Deputy Director of the School's Talent Office, welcomed the young talents on behalf of the school, and introduced the situation and relevant policies of Zhejiang University on talent introduction. Academician Huayong Yang, Dean of the School, expressed his welcome to all the young scholars who participated in the forum on behalf of the School, and gave a detailed introduction to the School of Mechanical Engineering from the aspects of historical evolution, teaching, education and teaching, scientific research, local cooperation, and international cooperation.

The academic report stage was presided over by researcher Kai Tao and researcher Weifei Hu, representatives of young talents introduced by ME before. Ten outstanding young scholars from University of Tokyo, Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Wayne State University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Manchester, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Imperial College, and University of Strathclyde conducted academic Reports. In addition, many young scholars from the University of Toronto, Technical University of Munich, National University of Singapore, Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Southeast University and Shanghai Jiaotong University also participated through online manners.
