In order to strengthen the communication among the young teachers, the School of Mechanical Engineering successfully held the fourth "Young Teacher Forum" at No. 411 on the Yuquan campus at noon on November 19, 2019. At the invitation of Associate Professor Cheng Jin, from University of Technology Sydney Associate Professor Luo Zhen from China came to this forum to give a report. Associate Dean Professor Liu Zhenyu and some young teachers of the college participated in this forum. Researcher Yin Jun presided over the event.
Associate Professor Luo Zhen gave a report entitled "Design of novel mechanical metamaterials using topology optimization" at the forum. Professor Luo introduced the related research on the use of optimization theory and finite element algorithm to design the topological structure of mechanical metamaterials, and realized the processing of the topological structure of mechanical metamaterials using additive manufacturing technology. In a relaxed and happy atmosphere, everyone had an in-depth discussion, and the exchange was lively and harmonious.
Supported by the college, the Youth Workers’ Committee is responsible for the organization and implementation of the mechanical young teacher forum. It aims to enhance exchanges, promote cooperation, discover new problems, and seek new directions. It has played a positive role in the development of research institutes and young teachers.
