The first Zhejiang Province Intelligent Robot Innovation Competition was held on December 6-8 in the Zijingang Campus Gymnasium of Zhejiang University. This is the first provincial-level competition established by the Intelligent Robot Innovation Competition of Chinese Universities. Our students won four first prizes in the competition.
The theme of the competition "Creative Design: Intelligent Robots-Make the Future More Colorful" carries people's desire to inspire creativity and let robots serve the future life. Our students Wang Yifan, Lu Chengyu, Peng Deshang, Cai Kejing (supervisor: Gao Yu) participated in the project experiment show "Robot Tetris Experiment" with a novel concept, integrated visual recognition and AI algorithms, and controlled the robotic arm to grab and place Tetris and let the robot Playing the game, through continuous improvement of the mechanical structure and control program, the automatic recognition of Tetris, grabbing and calculation of the best placement of the cubes were realized, and finally won the first prize of theme one in this competition.
The second theme of the competition "Creative Competition: Rubik's Cube Robot-Challenge the Limits of Humans" carries people's exploration of higher speed and flexibility of humanoid robots. Our students Cheng Yubin, Zhang Bolun, and Xu Shengkai (supervisor: Gao Yu) started preparing for the competition from the summer vacation, continuously improving the robot's actuators, and optimizing the program instructions and recognition algorithms. The final entry "Two-claw Rubik's Cube Robot" won 13.99 in the final. The fastest average recovery time in seconds and excellent defense performance won the first prize of the second theme of this competition and ranked first.
The third theme of the contest is "Creative Fighting: IRFC Intelligent Robot Fighting Competition-Combination of Technology and Traditional Martial Arts", which combines artificial intelligence and robotics with traditional Chinese martial arts, carrying the human pursuit of greater empowerment. Among them, two teams composed of our college students Ye Jiamu, Deng Personality, Jia Chen (instructors: Guan Kaimin, Li Hongjuan), Cui Xi and Tang Kai (instructors: Li Hongjuan, Guan Kaimin), two teams composed of the human body sensor team, in the competition Excellent performance, both defeated the heroes, joined the finals, and swept the champion and runner-up of the humanoid robot fighting project.
The first Zhejiang Province Intelligent Robot Innovation Contest came to a successful conclusion. It is expected that in the following national competitions, our students will continue to make great achievements and show the demeanor of Zhejiang University students in the national competitions.
