The Institute of Manufacturing Technology and Automation is one of the major units of the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power & Mechatronic Systems. The institute includes the Key Laboratory of 3D Printing Process and Equipment of Zhejiang Province, the Intelligent Manufacturing Research Center.

The institute has a staff of 24 people, including 12 professors, 9 associate professors, 1 full-time research staff, and 2 postdoctors. There are 1 scholar awarded with “Thousand Talents Program”,1 scholar awarded with “Young Thousand Talents Program”, 1 scholar awarded with“Yangtze River Young”, 1 scholar awarded with“National Outstanding Yong Science Foundation”, 1 scholar awarded with“National high-level talents special support plan”,and 2 “Education Ministry New Century Talents”.

In recent years, the institute has successively undertaken several national special projects, nation-supported programs, the National High Technology Research and Development Program(“863 Program”), and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.In addition, it has received a number of important awards, such as Second Class Prizes of The State Scientific and Technological Progress, First Class Prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress in Machinery Industry.
