Prof. Krus has a Phd in Fluid Power from
Hydraulic systems have high energy density and a high degree of control. However, for efficient design, it is important to have a good understanding of the dynamics of such systems. Furthermore, even though the dynamics of individual components can be fairly simple, systems may exhibit complex dynamics and in some cases even be unstable. In this course some of the more important systems, such as servo systems, load sensing systems etc, are studied both theoretically and maybe more importantly, through experimentation in simulation models. After the course it is expected that the students should be able to make simpler system simulation models, to be able to analyse the simulation results, and to draw conclusions on appropriate actions for improvements.
The course is based on lectures and computer exercises in the free software Hopsan-NG wich can be downloaded from. www.iei.liu.se/flumes. The hours indicated includes both lectures and exercises.
