The first intelligent robot creativity competition in Zhejiang Province was held on December 6-8 in the Zijingang Campus Gymnasium of Zhejiang University. The competition was hosted by the Zhejiang University Science and Technology Competition Committee, undertaken by the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University, and the Product Information Modeling Specialist of the Chinese Society of Graphics Co-organized by the Committee. This event is the first provincial-level competition set up by the Intelligent Robot Innovation Competition of Chinese Universities.

The opening ceremony of the competition was hosted by Xiao Jun, a visiting scholar from Zhejiang University, Zhang Liang, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of Zhejiang University Undergraduate School, Liu Zhenyu, deputy dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Xiang Shufang, deputy secretary of party committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and judges from various universities in Zhejiang Province. At the opening ceremony, Deputy Director Zhang Liang extended a warm welcome to the arrival of teachers and participating representatives and wished all the contestants excellent results. He hoped that this competition can further stimulate the interest of college students in scientific research and exploration, and further promote the collaboration of science and education talents. Prof. Liu Zhenyu, deputy dean pointed out that the cultivation of innovative and creative ability is an important part of higher education, and hopes that students can compete with the level to show their creativity. After participating student representatives and judges and teachers took the oath on stage, Deputy Dean Liu Zhenyu announced the official opening of the competition.

The theme of the competition "Creative Design: Intelligent Robots-Make the Future More Colorful" carries people's desire to inspire creativity and let robots serve the future life. In the exhibition area, a variety of intelligent robots with diversified functions and rich forms are dazzling and can meet people's various needs in daily life. Among them, there are robots that can play Tetris, which use computer vision recognition and AI algorithms to drive the robotic arm to grab the blocks and place them reasonably; there is a double-arm shampoo robot designed for people with short and medium hair, which automatically controls the head through a detection device. It is suitable for fitting, and realizes the integration of shampoo, shower and blowing; there is a multi-functional garbage sorting robot, which can be intelligently remotely controlled and voice controlled, and has the functions of sensing opening and one-key packaging; The automatic water cleaning robot can automatically salvage and clean up floating objects in urban rivers, and can also monitor water quality; the intelligent backgammon robot for man-machine battles uses image recognition algorithms to realize that humans and robots can play chess on a real chess board; The smart shoe cabinet that can realize intelligent access and processing helps users achieve more convenient shoe access, drying and disinfection, and alarm functions. It not only brings convenience to our lives, but also realizes the function of multi-purpose.

The second theme of the competition "Creative Competition: Rubik's Cube Robot-Challenge the Limits of Humans" carries people's exploration of higher speed and flexibility of humanoid robots. The randomly disrupted Rubik's Cube is quickly rotated and restored in the hands of the robot, and even has a faster speed and flexibility than a human, which can be described as "agile and witty". The entry "Two-jaw Rubik's Cube Robot" from Zhejiang University was the fastest to restore the shuffled Rubik's Cube with an average speed of 13.91 seconds. It defeated the best in the competitive group and took the top spot; Zhejiang Sci-Tech University's "Magic Circle Robot" followed closely. After that, it ranked second with 15.882 seconds.

The third theme of the competition is "Creative Fighting: IRFC Intelligent Robot Fighting Competition-Combination of Technology and Traditional Martial Arts", which combines artificial intelligence and robotics with traditional Chinese martial arts, carrying the human pursuit of greater empowerment. Fighting robots from the opposing sides competed fiercely in each match, and the atmosphere of the match was tense. The creative fighting competition is divided into two categories: wheeled robot fighting and humanoid robot fighting. Wheeled robot fighting is an adversarial robot competition. The robot autonomously climbs the 6cm high ring, automatically finds and pushes the opponent off the ring. In the process, if the robot falls or is pushed off the ring, the robot needs to recognize , find and independently board the ring to continue the competition.

The humanoid robot fighting competition emphasizes the highly integrated fighting behavior of robots and humans, focusing on the design of sensory human-computer interaction system, the coordinated control of chassis movement, and the realization of human-in-the-loop confrontation control strategies. This item includes four missions and a competitive mission. The score of the mission determines the initial HP in the fight. The robot has dual arms and an omnidirectional mobile chassis. One arm is equipped with a fighting weapon. Both arms perform martial arts movements under the control of the sensory system. Only by accurately hitting the vital parts of the opponent can the opponent's HP loss until the opponent's HP is exhausted.

After a whole day of fierce competition, the two teams of the humanoid sensor team of Zhejiang University finally joined the finals and won the champion and runner-up of the humanoid robot fighting project.

In addition, this competition also set up the "Explorer" fun competition project. The cars designed by each participating team must complete the climbing, ladder climbing and fixed channel turning to reach the end, and the successful completion of each project and the shortest time will win.

Since the start of the first intelligent robot creativity competition in Zhejiang Province, it has received extensive attention and enthusiastic responses from teachers and students from colleges and universities in the province, attracting 283 teams from 39 colleges and universities to register for the competition. After evaluation by the expert group, a total of 114 creative design works, 15 creative competitive works, and 42 creative fighting works were selected as finalists. In the end, thanks to the hard work of the teachers and volunteers of the conference organization group, the competition came a successful end.
